Welcome to the Haunted house of Baker & Chef, where for Halloween Week, we will be putting on an array of Ghoulish Baking & Decorating Classes.  No hocus pocus here, just plenty of tricks and a few little treats! 

On Friday kids will make a spellbinding cake fit for Halloween Party.    They'll start by making a vanilla sheet cake, topped with vanilla icing, before being shown how to use a piping bag to create gems, swirls and rosettes to adorn their cake - in the colour palette of their choice.  Each cake will have a Halloween topper and finished with sprinkles. 

Children will work in pairs to bake the sponges and buttercream, but will decorate their own cakes to their own personal preference.

The ultimate cakepop class - lining fancy moulds with melt in your mouth chocolate before filling them with a selection of delicious sweet fillings.   

Learn how to make these incredibly stylish and yummy sweet treats!  So fancy you won't want to eat them - yet our new and tempting fillings will mean they won't stay around for long!  

We'll provide you with a selection of delicious fillings, including buttery shortbread & salted caramel;  honeycomb (think Crunchie bars!); or finally a gooey chocolate fudge cake - a firm family favourite that is a cross between fudge & brownie.   

You'll complete the look by decorating these cute cakepops with sprinkles and chocolate toppers.   You'll make four each, plus some chocolatey treats, making it an ideal  gift to share with family & friends. 

This the perfect Girls Night Out - so bring your bestie, your baking pal or your work colleagues and come and join the fun (boys very welcome too of course!).   You'll find this a relaxing and fun class, with easy to follow instructions - all whilst enjoying some complimentary prosecco or mocktails and tucking into a selection of pizza.

I recently took a cake pop making class with a group of friends and had an absolute blast! The instructor was super knowledgeable and helpful, and couldn't have been more accomodating especially as I required gluten free adjustments due to ceoliac disease. We all had a great time learning how to make delicious and cute cake pops with added bonus of pizza and prosecco. The best part was getting to eat our creations at the end - they were so tasty! Bento Cake Decorating Class

Join us for this fun and stylish cake decorating class!  Bring your bestie, your baking buddy, or simply come along and meet others.  No need for any prior cake decorating experience, as it is perfect for all abilities and you'll be guided through at every stage.  A really fun way to spend your evening. 

During this class you will be given  a pre-baked, 4'' vanilla cake, which you'll start by covering with our delicious signature vanilla buttercream - learning how to get that all important ultra smooth finish. 

Perfect the art of cake decorating using an array of piping tips to create stylish buttercream swags, shells and rosettes in the colour palette of your choice, before adorning your cakes with a delightful array of edible petals and flowers.

Bento Cake Class - Small is beautiful!   

Bento Cake Class with Prosecco & Pizza

A really fun class for you both to enjoy.   This activity is really suitable for all ages.  We suggest no younger than 6yrs and we have plenty of older children who also like to join, but with their parent. 

Come and join us in making a colourful collection of cakesicles.  
In this class we’ll show you the art of making cake pops, using silicon moulds. We’ll use a selection of moulds and show you the technique for coating the moulds with chocolate ensuring a shiny finish.  

You’ll choose your colour palette before colouring the chocolate accordingly.    Each cake pop is filled with a delicious vanilla sponge and buttercream. 

After un-moulding your cake pops, we’ll show you how to decorate your pops using various techniques and then we’ll let you lose in the sprinkles bar – so that you can finish them off with an individual flourish! 

Working together to create these treats, you’ll l leave with  8 Cake Pops between you and a selection of chocolatey decorations.

My daughter found it easy to follow Ffi's instructions as we were taught a little and then given time to go and practise what we had learnt before then being taught the next step in the process.   The venue was fantastic.  It was well laid out with plenty of room for each couple.  I really enjoyed how easy it was to switch off from everything else going on in the world and just focus on my cake pop design.  It definitely felt like a lovely bit of "me time". My granddaughter and I spent a lovely time together yesterday making pop cakes.  The venue is on the site of the former Ormeau Gasworks building. We were greeting on arrival with a welcome drink and cookies. The kitchen is beautifully decorated and meticulously clean. When all the families arrived we gave here’d around the demonstration table and were given practical instructions. Then it was our turn to use everything provided to make a selection of beautiful pop cakes and chocolates. Coffee, tea and juice was available throughout the morning. We were given a lovely box in which to transport our  confections home. 
Our host was brilliant and I would thoroughly recommend her classes. We hope to return in the future to enjoy more classes.

I booked the piping techniques class for my friend as a birthday present and we attended last Sunday. We were warmly welcomed by Ffi as we arrived and offered tea or coffee. It was a lovely intimate class, as there were only 10 of us in total. All the workstations were set up beautifully on arrival with everything we needed for the class, so there was zero flaffing… apron on and Ffi started by demonstrating how we were to make our buttercream and gave us some top tips. We had great fun then using the vast array of food colourings she had to make up our own colours to use for piping. She then demonstrated how to fit the nozzle in the piping bag. Then demonstrated how to  fill it and how to hold it, before demonstrating several different patterns that could be achieved from that one nozzle. We all went back to our stations and gave it a go, before returning for further demonstrations of other nozzles. Ffi is a pro and she makes it look soooo easy… she is so friendly and so calming and came round each workstation and helped us all and answered any questions we had between demonstrations. The class was 3 hrs long, however it just flew in … though it was all at a lovely pace and didn’t feel rushed. I was absolutely chuffed with my 12 cupcakes and came away confident that I could replicate it again, to give plain fairy cakes the Whao factor! I would definitely recommend Baker & Chef and would love to return to try some of her other classes.

You’ll be making from scratch this adorable family of biscuit bears, each bejewelled with sugarpaste bows, flowers and decorations. 

We’ll start by making the vanilla cookies, using a delicious recipe which won’t spread in the oven when your little bears are baking!  

During this class we’ll show you how to use sugar paste and modelling tools and cutters to decorate the cookies.  
  
At the end of the session each pair will get to take home a family of bears including daddy bear, mommy bear and 8 baby bears - which we’ll box up for you in a stylish Baker & Chef Box.

From the welcome from Ffi, to the detailed instructions on how to do different types of piping, the drinks on offer (both soft and alcoholic. My friend and I indulged in the prosecco), the pizza provided, the assistance throughout, meeting new people, the whole evening was just fantastic. 

A brilliant way to spend a few hours with friends, meeting others, learning new skills, having food and drink, and best of all, getting gorgeous mini cupcakes out of it at the end of the night (that were thoroughly enjoyed by all who sampled them)!  Ffi has created an amazing space, well planned out, and is a most generous host. Really looking forward to our next night there.

My cousin and I went to the cupcake decorating class for me birthday. The class was so informative I never thought I would be able to do the designs we learned, there were so mant instructments to use and colour options and decorations options. We met lovely people at our work station. The drinks did not stop coming! It was such a lovely evening I have been recommending it to so many of my friends and I hope to go back soon

Bring your best pal, your baking buddy or just come and meet new people in this fun, mini cupcake decorating  class. 

In this class you’ll each be given 12 pre-baked Baker & Chef vanilla cupcakes, ready for you to start decorating.  

You’ll learn the techniques to pipe 4 different flowers (creating 3 of each), using American buttercream.  The flowers include:

- A David Austin Rose 
- An Allium Bloom 
- Cherry Blossom 
- Chrysanthemum


We’ll show you how to make the perfect American Buttercream to the correct consistency for piping flowers. We’ll talk you through all the various piping nozzles which we’ll be using and demonstrate the piping technique for each flower and all the tips and tricks.

This class is ideally suited to those bakers who’ve had some experience of using a piping bag before but it isn't essential as we'll guide you through everything. 

You’ll leave with 12 beautiful cupcakes boxed up, and presented in our very own Baker & Chef box.
