Halloween Baking & Decorating Kids Camp - Full Week 

Welcome to the Haunted house of Baker & Chef, where for Halloween Week, we will be putting on an array of Ghoulish Baking & Decorating Classes.  No hocus pocus here, just plenty of tricks and a few little treats! 

On Monday kids will make a selection of mini loaf cakes, from gooey chocolate, to fragrant carrot and cinnamon, and vampire red velvet.  All topped with squeamish bones made from French meringue.   

Children will work in pairs to bake the sponges and then create their own meringue bones and decorate their individual cakes.

You'll each be given 12 mini vanilla, pre-baked Baker & Chef cupcakes, ready to be decorated.  You'll be shown different techniques such as using fondant icing to great ombre effects, buttercream with different nozzles, plus moulding chocolates to create toppers. 

This is such a relaxing and fun class, which you can enjoy whilst sipping prosecco and eating pizza and catching up with friends, or meeting new people.  Come and join the baking fun.

After seeing a video on Insta, I booked this evening for my best friend and I. Wow, what an amazing night! From the welcome from Ffi, to the detailed instructions on how to do different types of piping, the drinks on offer (both soft and alcoholic. My friend and I indulged in the prosecco), the pizza provided, the assistance throughout, meeting new people, the whole evening was just fantastic. 

A brilliant way to spend a few hours with friends, meeting others, learning new skills, having food and drink, and best of all, getting gorgeous mini cupcakes out of it at the end of the night (that were thoroughly enjoyed by all who sampled them)!  Ffi has created an amazing space, well planned out, and is a most generous host. Really looking forward to our next night there.

We had the best night at Baker and Chef.  Ffi was a great host and took time to explain to us the different processes for decorating the cup cakes before we all attempted to decorate our selection of home made cupcakes.  The cupcakes themselves were so yummy.  Pizza and Proscesso flowed during the night which was just brilliant.  A great mix of girls at our night.  We thoroughly enjoyed it all and could not recommend a visit to Baker and Chef highly enough it is just something different to enjoy with friends.

A fantastic night out. Went to the mini cup cake class with prosseco and pizza. Fantastic tuition on Piping and Fondent with lots to do. Easy enough for beginners but equally lovely for those who are a bit more experienced. The prosseco was flowing and pizza was delightful while the tunes played away. Would def recommend. Was a fantastic event for something a bit different for friends and family to do together.

This class is perfect for anyone wanting to learn how to decorate cupcakes with a professional finish.  You'll learn how to use  various piping nozzles correctly and gain tips and tricks for that wow factor finish!
 
We’ll save you the time and give you 12 pre-baked, Baker & Chef vanilla cupcakes, ready for you to decorate. 

You’ll learn about choosing a successful looking colour palette, before learning how to make buttercream to the correct consistency for piping.  We’ll then walk you through how to pipe various shapes and styles using the most popular piping nozzles.   You’ll get to practice lots before going in for the final pipe!  Lastly topping your cupcakes with sprinkles of your choice. 

You’ll leave feeling confident to try this out at home and wow your friends!  Our scrumptious vanilla sponge recipe will also be shared. 

What you'll learn during this class:

- How to make our signature buttercream and understand consistencies for the required task. 
- How to colour and create contrasting colour designs. 
- How to fill and how a piping bag correctly. 
- How to create style patterns using a multitude of piping tips. 
- How to create stylish compositions.

The instructor was super knowledgeable and helpful, and couldn't have been more accomodating especially as I required gluten free adjustments due to ceoliac disease. The ultimate cakepop class - the perfect girls night out! 

In this class you’ll each be given 12 pre-baked Baker & Chef vanilla cupcakes, ready for you to start decorating.  

You’ll learn the techniques to pipe 4 different flowers (creating 3 of each), using American buttercream.  The flowers include:

- A David Austin Rose 
- An Allium Bloom 
- Cherry Blossom 
- Chrysanthemum


We’ll show you how to make the perfect American Buttercream to the correct consistency for piping flowers. We’ll talk you through all the various piping nozzles which we’ll be using and demonstrate the piping technique for each flower and all the tips and tricks.

This class is ideally suited to those bakers who’ve had some experience of using a piping bag before but it isn't essential as we'll guide you through everything. 

You’ll leave with 12 beautiful cupcakes boxed up, and presented in our very own Baker & Chef box. 


Learn the art of piping an array of beautiful spring & summer flowers and leave with a stunning box of 12 floral cupcakes. 

Spring & Summer Flower Collection - Piping Techniques 

A really fun class for you both to enjoy.   This activity is really suitable for all ages.  We suggest no younger than 6yrs and we have plenty of older children who also like to join, but with their parent. 

Come and join us in making a colourful collection of cakesicles.  
In this class we’ll show you the art of making cake pops, using silicon moulds. We’ll use a selection of moulds and show you the technique for coating the moulds with chocolate ensuring a shiny finish.  

You’ll choose your colour palette before colouring the chocolate accordingly.    Each cake pop is filled with a delicious vanilla sponge and buttercream. 

After un-moulding your cake pops, we’ll show you how to decorate your pops using various techniques and then we’ll let you lose in the sprinkles bar – so that you can finish them off with an individual flourish! 

Working together to create these treats, you’ll l leave with  8 Cake Pops between you and a selection of chocolatey decorations.

My daughter found it easy to follow Ffi's instructions as we were taught a little and then given time to go and practise what we had learnt before then being taught the next step in the process.   The venue was fantastic.  It was well laid out with plenty of room for each couple.  I really enjoyed how easy it was to switch off from everything else going on in the world and just focus on my cake pop design.  It definitely felt like a lovely bit of "me time". My granddaughter and I spent a lovely time together yesterday making pop cakes.  The venue is on the site of the former Ormeau Gasworks building. We were greeting on arrival with a welcome drink and cookies. The kitchen is beautifully decorated and meticulously clean. When all the families arrived we gave here’d around the demonstration table and were given practical instructions. Then it was our turn to use everything provided to make a selection of beautiful pop cakes and chocolates. Coffee, tea and juice was available throughout the morning. We were given a lovely box in which to transport our  confections home. 
Our host was brilliant and I would thoroughly recommend her classes. We hope to return in the future to enjoy more classes.

You’ll be making from scratch this adorable family of biscuit bears, each bejewelled with sugarpaste bows, flowers and decorations. 

We’ll start by making the vanilla cookies, using a delicious recipe which won’t spread in the oven when your little bears are baking!  

During this class we’ll show you how to use sugar paste and modelling tools and cutters to decorate the cookies.  
  
At the end of the session each pair will get to take home a family of bears including daddy bear, mommy bear and 8 baby bears - which we’ll box up for you in a stylish Baker & Chef Box.
